Credit: To Buy, to Cry, to Repair and Improve- How to get yourself WHERE YOU NEED TO BE.

Credit is a touchy subject. I relate it to the "Keeping up with the Jones's Effect"- We all know the "one upper," the one guy when you tell him you have a 720 score he has an 840 score... The guy you tell you might be purchasing a new car and you love the new Kia and when you pull up in your driveway... He is sitting there waxing his new Jag. That guy...  we tend to as a whole dislike, "That guy," but we know that because their are millions of him in society and millions of "normal" everyday folk- we have to have a tier  system on where we stack up with our debt, payment history, inquiries, collections etc... THE CREDIT BUREAUS.

So, we brought in a professional to give us a few tips along the way and to take a step back and see where we all fall in place in this big algorithm we call credit, and the managing systems- Bureaus.

Tiny tips along the way:

1. Always pay your mortgage 1st!                          2. Know your FICO score

3. Payoff your credit debt monthly (If possible)     4. Keep credit balances below 50% if possible

5. Paying off collections WILL NOT help your score.   * Even when you pay a collection, or charge off it will still impact your score. *Judgments and Liens once paid can most of the time be removed from your credit with a credit professionals help* But those ARE NOT the same as a collection.

6. For a single person- Keep your overall debt to 3 trade lines MAX. For a married person keep your trade lines to 7 trade lines

7. NEVER CO SIGN FOR ANYONE. (not even MeeMaw and her puppy dog "Conway Twitty")

We learned that having people pull your credit affects your score to the "tune" of: 3 freebies a year and after that: 3 points each down to 10 pulls and thereafter 2 points each down to 20... Oh Boy!!! that can add up.
